Hey Look I can Blog!

After reading Kristie's little blurb on getting everyone else to use the blog I felt a little guilty and decided to post, not that I have anything to say, but Kristie is so good at guilt. BTW The Roger Whitaker video had no sound for me. One piece of exciting news is Stefani's (Kristie note the spelling) brother will be going to the same place in Afghanistan as me and at the same time. I haven't actually met this brother so it will be interesting to meet him in Afghanistan. OK I'm done for now. See Ya.

More tooth trouble.

Yesterday, Conner had 6 teeth pulled. They were all baby teeth, but they didn't look like it. They were huge! I'll try to put a pic up when I get home. The dentist said he'd never seen such long roots on baby teeth before and explained that's why Conner's teeth weren't falling out on their own, they are just too darn anchored.

Poor little guy had to sit through all those painful shots in the mouth. I know they hurt like heck, but he did so amazing! The doc said he was better than most soldiers they get in there. I was so proud of him (plus the dentist charged me less than he should have just because Conner was so abnormally good). They had people in the room prepared to hold Conner down, but they eventually left the room, Conner never moved, never even made much sound, and never complained. I really saw that he is turning from a little boy into a wonderful young man yesterday.

Roger Whittaker

I had to put on the video of ol' Roger. The kids are walking around the house singing "Oh I don't believe in if anymore..." It's amazing how the new generation can spot quality even if it's dated!
SO I thought of a funny story from my youth dealing with Roger. Mom loved Roger (probably still does) and she had bought Janein (oh come on, you remember her, our babysitter in Iowa, Ok, Tom and SHeralan might not remember her... Anyway it was supposed to be a surprise for her birthday and she offered me a pice of gum if I told her what mom got her. Of course I hadn't had my agent training from the CIA yet, so I sqealed, all for a piece of gum!

Feb. 3rd

Hello Family ~ Now we've just got to get Becky, Tom, Scott and Stephanie using this! I hope Scott and Steve will be able to get on every once in a while in Afghanistan so we can hear from them. I know their computer access will be very limited. It's a beautiful, warm day. I just got back from walking Koda and found a bunch of daffodils totally hidden (in a pasture, no I didn't take them from someone's flower garden) so I picked some and they look so pretty. I think I'm finally beginning to get the anesthesia out of my system. I can't believe I drove as much as I did Fri. & Sat. We had a fun party over at Scott's to celebrate his b-day (he was gone then) & celebrate Katie's b-day (so he could enjoy her enjoying her b-day). It was a lot of fun. They went out and bought me a Burger King Hamburger and it was so good. They all had Mexican Food. I made a lemon meringue pie and a friend of Stephanie's brought a better than sex cake (it wasn't, but it was very good after I scraped off the cool whip). I got to play guitar hero a lot. Katie even gave me a kiss! (Those are rare). Then she kissed everyone else and I didn't feel so special. Cori's braces look very cute on her!! I felt bad for her yesterday because her mouth was so sore. I sure wish everyone lived close by so we could all get together more often. I sure miss those days!!

Yes I'm almost old...

As Sheralan pointed out, it is my birthday. I'm writing this while my children are preparing my dinner of fish, steamed oinions, home-made rolls, blueberry cheescake and other fun and yummy food. The kids asked what I wanted, I told them I wanted to hear them bare their testimonies. David wasn't feeling well, so he owes me one, but all the others bore beautiful testimonies. Bill didn't get to hear them, he was here laid out from herniating a disk from moving his studio. He's doing better now - just another proof of age.
Ya gotta love it!
